GIVE TO THE

COLLEGE OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS

The College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) advances the study, creation, performance, and exhibition of the arts, acting on the strong belief in their transformative influence on individuals and civilizations. Fusing the academic and the professional, the campus and the community, CVPA seeks to engage new art forms, audiences, and ways of working to meet the needs of a changing world.

See the Impact

The arts play a central role in the life of George Mason University by offering students from all fields the chance to participate in creative endeavors in the classroom, studio, stage, gallery, and beyond; by welcoming hundreds of thousands onto our campuses each year for performances and exhibitions; and by building a vibrant community of faculty, staff, students, and visiting professionals in pursuit of the college’s mission.

    Scholarships

Scholarships support means more time in the studio, rehearsing, or creating new art and less time working off campus. Scholarships attract top students to our programs and help young artists graduate without excessive debt. Make a difference for the next generation of artists through much needed scholarships.

    Visiting Artists

Residencies bring word-class visiting artists into our studios and classrooms. Visiting artists provide students with meaningful enrichment with creative professionals, deepening their education and understanding of their chosen field. Join us in bringing artists to campus to share their talents with our talented Mason students and the community.

    Facilities

A first-rate arts education requires state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for instruction, rehearsal, performance, and exhibition. The arts create community–places to gather and experience art together. Your support is needed to help Mason provide the best facilities for our students and community to gather, learn, and grow.

“The arts create community. They allow us to reflect, to dream, to touch the highest levels of human capability as captured in a soaring song, the stroke of a brush, the leap of a dancer. Mason is poised to take a leading role in this vital work with wise investments in the people, places, and programs that will secure our position as a major center for studying, making, and experiencing the arts.”
